BNP Vice Chairman and Member of Parliament for Noakhali-3, Barkat Ullah Bulu, has declared a zero-tolerance stance against drugs, terrorism, extortion and juvenile gangs, saying that no one involved in such crimes will be spared and strict action must be taken against offenders.
He made the remarks as the chief guest at a public rally held on Saturday evening at the Chowmuhani Public Hall Gate in Begumganj Upazila of Noakhali. The event was organized by Begumganj Upazila BNP, Chowmuhani Municipal BNP and its associate organizations under the slogan, “Tarique Rahman’s Directive: A Drug-Free Bangladesh.
Presiding over the rally, Begumganj Upazila BNP President Kamakhya Chandra Das welcomed the participants.
In his address, Bulu said that drugs, terrorism, extortion and juvenile gangs pose serious threats to society. He stressed that those involved in such criminal activities have no political identity and urged law enforcement agencies to take firm action against them.
Addressing the administration, he said, “Terrorists, extortionists and drug addicts have no political affiliation. There will be no leniency for them. They must be arrested wherever they are found.”
Among others, former Noakhali District BNP member Shamima Barkat Lucky, central Krishak Dal leader Shah Abdullah Al Baki, BNP leaders Zahir Uddin Harun and Mahfuzul Haque Abed, along with local leaders of the BNP and its affiliated organizations, also addressed the rally.
