A human chain was formed in front of the National Press Club at 11 am on Tuesday in protest of the terrorist attack on Dhaka Press Club General Secretary Mosleh Uddin Bachchu at his residence in Gazipur at the initiative of Dhaka Press Club. The attackers of the human chain were quickly arrested and exemplary punishment was demanded. Otherwise, journalist leaders have warned of severe agitation across the country. A case has been filed with Joyderpur Police Station in this incident.
According to the details of the incident, journalist Mosleh Uddin Bachchu was supervising construction work at his residence in BK Bari area of Mirzapur Union of Sadar Upazila of Gazipur on Friday morning (April 17). According to the complaint, a group of terrorists including local terrorists and political figures Gani Mia, Mofazzal Hossain and Masud demanded a ransom of 5 lakh taka from him. When he refused to pay the ransom, they brutally injured him with a hammer, rod and stick with the intention of killing him.
He is currently undergoing treatment at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital in critical condition.

The president of the human chain said in his speech that the conscience of the journalist nation is demanding exemplary punishment by quickly arresting the attackers of this heinous incident. The joint secretary said that journalists have been persecuted for ages, mentioning the trial of Sagar-Runi. He also said that any attack on journalists cannot be suppressed by threatening them with death.
In this regard, the officer-in-charge of Joydebpur police station said that they are conducting a drive with multiple teams to arrest the accused and the criminals will be brought to justice soon.
