Police have arrested a young man named Md. Sujon Matabbar in an anti-drug drive in Lalmohan upazila of Bhola district, recovering 100 grams of cannabis from his possession.
The arrest was made around 8:30 pm on Thursday (May 14) from the road in front of the house of Mofizul Islam Matabbar, located west of the Model Mosque in Ward No. 10 of Lalmohan municipality .
The operation was conducted by S.I (unarmed) Prosenjit Halder of Lalmohan Police Station along with a team of police members. Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted and searched Sujon Matabbar, and recovered 100 grams of illegal cannabis from him.
The arrested Sujon Matabbar is the son of Mofizul Islam of the same area.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lalmohan Police Station, Oliul Islam, said that Sujon Matabbar was arrested with drugs as part of their regular anti-narcotics mission . He added that a case is being filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act.
The OC further stated that Lalmohan Police Station remains committed to preventing the spread of drugs in the area.
